With great pleasure I introduce USB student athlete, Ryan Gavin.
Ryan has been a member of the Warwickshire Boys Squad since 2018 and the midlands England Regional Squad since 2019. Ryan has won numerous events and competed at National level since a young age. This year he has finished 11th in the McEvoy Trophy, 13th in the English U18’s and 9th in the Midland Youths U21’s.
Confident and composed, Ryan certainly has what it takes to go along way in this game. Not only an exceptional golfer, Ryan is also a stellar student with a GPA of 3.9.

How would you describe yourself?
I would describe myself as hard working, motivated and I have the undying will to improve. I am willing to make any necessary sacrifices that are required.
At what age did you start playing golf and why?
I was 6 years old when I first picked up a golf club. I played with my sister and my dad. I knew straight away that my love for this sport would forever continue to grow.
How would you say you have developed as a golfer over the past few years?
My knowledge about the game has vastly increased; I have learnt to adapt my ways/habits to improve according to the circumstances. I have increased ball speed and also created a swing that I can play my best golf from.
Who is your favourite golfer and why?
Jordan Spieth, I love his desire and mental approach to the game.
What do you intend to study and why?
Business, it appeals to me the most.
Other than golf what else do you enjoy doing and why?
If I’m not working on my golf, then I will either be in the gym, keeping up with my studies or spending time with my friends and family.
